They were off and running. And they’re still running.

Adam Stumbo and Taylor Hacker of Ironton, Kira Dillon of Fairland, and the Fairland boys’ cross country team all placed among the top 16 and will advance to the regional meet Saturday at Pickerington.

Ironton sophomore Adam Stumbo was 10th with a 17:54.72 clocking.

Fairland not only had three of the top 16 runners, but the team finished third overall with a combined point total of 77. Unioto won with 21 points followed by Sheridan with 70.

Tanner Mattie ran a 17:08.09 to place fifth for Fairland. Joe Stewart was 8th at 17:47.10 and Eddie Adkins was No. 16 with an 18:10.88 time.

Hacker was the only Ironton girl to run and she finished 13th overall with a 21:53.02 time.

Dillon placed No. 14 in Division II with a time of 20:31.50.
