WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Charlie Wilson (OH-6) is pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of Transportation is awarding a $103,000 grant to the Scioto County Airport Authority and the Scioto County Commissioners for the Greater Portsmouth Regional Airport.

The funding is through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The funds will be used to replace collapsed drainage tile adjacent to the runway, redirect drainage away from the hangars, improve the terminal building so that it meets current American Disabilities Act standards and replace the airport beacon so that it is more visible for approaching pilots.

Thomas Reiser, Scioto County Commissioner, was pleased to get the notice. “This grant is very important for the Scioto County area and the Airport Authority in helping us to keep our airport in up to date condition and safe. We view our airport as a very important part of our economic development package here in Scioto County,” Reiser said.
