For area youngsters, the chance to don that costume and bag some candy is only a few weeks away. Nearly all local city, village and county governments have scheduled Trick or Treat for Thursday, Oct. 30.

The city of Ironton will have its residential Trick of Treat on that night from 6-8 p.m. But the annual Safe Trick or Treat and costume contest and parade will be a few days earlier on Monday, Oct. 27 beginning at 5:30 p.m.

These entities have Trick or Treat scheduled for Oct. 30, although actual hours may vary:

— Hanging Rock, 6-8 p.m.

— Huntington, W.Va., 6-8 p.m.

— Greenup County, Ky., unincorporated areas, 6-8 p.m.
