PROCTORVILLE — The Chesapeake Lady Panthers got what they needed when they needed it.

Clutch pitching and hitting keyed a 5-4 come-from-behind win over the Fairland Lady Dragons Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“It was a pretty well-played game,” said Lady Panthers’ coach Aaron Rice. “We got timely hitting and we got the pitching when we needed.”

Fairland took a 2-0 lead in the third inning when Chelsey Stanley and Keri Pinkerman singled and Sashe Burcham had a two-run double.

Chesapeake tied the game in the fourth on doubles by Sarah Mayo and Boyle and Courtney Heffner’s RBI single.

The Lady Dragons regained the lead with two runs in the sixth inning.

Amber Bias and Chloey Stanley got one-out singles, moved up on a sacrifice and scored when Haley Woodall singled.

Burcham took the loss as she struck out seven, walked none, hit a batter and gave up eight hits.
