The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers got a little of both as they swept the Portsmouth Lady Trojans in a Southeastern Ohio Athletic League doubleheader Saturday, 7-6 and 4-2.

Karlee McMackin singled home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Ironton won the opener 7-6.

Kylie Summers pitched a 5-hitter as Ironton won the nightcap 4-2. Summers struck out eight and walked two.

“Summers gave a real solid pitching performance today. She is getting stronger every game,” said Ironton coach Missy Fields.

Alex Taylor slammed a home run in the first game — her second in two days — and Taylor Lilly went 3-5 as Ironton had 11 hits. Rebekkah Potter was 2-4.

Taylor was 3-3 and Janie Morris 2-3 in the nightcap as Ironton got the win.

The Lady Tigers led 3-0 after three innings and Summers limited Portsmouth to single runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

The Lady Tigers (5-1, 2-0) play at Fairland on Tuesday.
