A public hearing Thursday afternoon will give area residents a chance to learn about proposed changes to the county’s one-year-old bus system and get updates on several other in-the-works projects.

Ralph Kline, assistant director of the Ironton-Lawrence County Community Action Organization, said the hearing, 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the Ironton City Center, will be informal, with project leaders discussing the progress on the transit center and downtown lofts project, The Depot Street improvements and the splashpark, the Ironton traffic signalization project, the improvements to the roadway at Charley Creek and County Road 1 and the intermodal facility at The Point industrial park.

“There is a lot going on. I know we talk about things and people think, ‘oh, that will never happen.’ But by the time you go through the design phase, we just want give people an update,” Kline said.
