Ironton sets football fitness for July 22

Any boys planning to play football at Ironton High School in grades 10-12 should meet for physical fitness at 7 a.m. on Monday in the stadium bleachers.

Fitness for freshmen and junior high will be announced at a later date.

Ironton middle school football meeting set

Any boys in grades 7-8 planning to play football at Ironton Middle School are to meet at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 22, in Tanks Memorial Stadium.

IRD youth football signups Saturday

The Ironton Youth Football League will conduct registration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Ironton City Center for grades K-6.

Tryouts will be held on Monday, July 22, at the Ironton Little League baseball fields for new players who will be starting in pads.

 

Ironton area youth soccer final signup

The Ironton Area Youth Soccer Association will conduct final regular registration for the fall season at the Ironton City Center, 301 South Third Street, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The league is for youths ages 4 to 12 with birthdays between Aug. 1, 2001, to July 31, 2009. Fee is $20 per youth and $15 for each additional sibling. There will be a $5 late fee assessed per player as of July 21.

Teams will be for under age 6 (co-ed), under 8 (co-ed), and under age 10 and under 12 for boys and girls.

 

Volleyball officials’ class set to begin

The Ohio High School Athletic Association will conduct a class for anyone interested in becoming an official for high school and middle school volleyball.

The class will consist of classroom and onthe court instructions.

The first class will be at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16. All classes will be in the Ironton area. Fee si $100 and persons must go online to register and pay online. The website is www.OHSAA.org

Rock Hill K-6 booster meeting Saturday

The Rock Hill K-6 boosters will meet at 6 p.m. Saturday at the little league football field.

This is an open invitation for football and basketball for anyone who wants to play.

Four-day K-6 football camp planned

A four-day youth football camp for anyone entering grades K-6 throughout the tri-state will be held July 29-30 and Aug. 1-2. Fee is $5.

Ironton chapter will hold officiating class

The Ironton Chapter of Basketball Officials and the Ohio High School Athletic Association. will conduct an OHSAA basketball officiating class beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Chesaspeake Middle School.

Fee is $140 and must be paid when registering online at www.OHSAA.org

Flyer/OLBH 5K Race set for August 10

The third annual Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital/Ironton Catholic Schools Flyer 5K Race will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, starting at St. Joseph High School.

Registration fee is $15 and $20 after Aug. 3. Registration the day of the race will be 7-7:45 a.m.

Restrooms will be available at the start adn finish area. Water station is provided at the halfway point.

Medical care is also available. Food and door prizes will be provided after the race.

Tech shirts will be guaranteed to the first 200 runners. There were 353 entries last year. Walkers are welcome.

Circlevile Dog Days 5K race set Aug. 3

The 12th annual Circleville Dog Days 5K road race, presented by Red Barn, will be held Sat., August 3 at 9 a.m. beginning and ending at Circleville High School.

The event boasts unique “Dog Days” suncatchers, given to the top three in each of 32 total age groups, plus awards to the top three overall male and female finishers. Numerous door prizes also will be awarded, water and splits will be available on the course, and refreshments will be available at the finish.
