OLBH to offer flu clinic for children

RUSSELL, Ky. — Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) and Tri-State Pediatrics will conduct its seventh annual children’s flu clinic Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the lobby of Bellefonte Centre 1000 Ashland Drive on the campus of OLBH.

The only area flu clinic geared toward children, the event allows caregivers to have their children vaccinated in a “well” environment as opposed to a doctor’s office where other children may be sick. In addition to the traditional vaccine, the clinic will offer Flumist, a nasal spray vaccine that is easier to administer to some children.

Flu vaccine is recommended for children ages 6 months to 18 years regardless of whether a child has other chronic conditions.

The cost of the vaccination is $20 for the traditional vaccine and $25 for Flumist.

Museum to join nation event for free admission

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Huntington Museum of Art will open its doors free of charge on Saturday, Sept. 28, as part of Smithsonian magazine’s ninth annual Museum Day Live! A nationwide event, Museum Day Live! offers free admission to visitors presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket at a participating museum or cultural institution.

Inclusive by design, the event represents Smithsonian’s commitment to make learning and the spread of knowledge accessible to everyone, giving museums across all 50 states the opportunity to emulate the admission policy of the Smithsonian museums in Washington D.C. Last year’s event drew over 400,000 participants, and this year’s event expects record-high participation.

“The Huntington Museum of Art is very happy to be participating again with Museum Day Live! and we hope that people will come out on Sept. 28, to see the current exhibits that HMA has to offer,” said HMA executive director Margaret Mary Layne.

The Museum Day Live! ticket will be available to download at www.Smithsonian.com/museumday.
