Home health worker arrested, charged with theft

IRONTON — A home health worker accused of stealing from a client was arrested Monday.

Det. Mitch Crum of the Ironton Police Department said a 69-year-old woman reported the theft of a ring and $50 cash from her home on Oct. 6.

April Stevens, 26, of Franklin Furnace, was charged with theft from the elderly, a fifth-degree felony. Stevens, an employee of Quality Care of South Point, appeared In Ironton Municipal Court Tuesday and a $10,000 bond was set.

Stevens is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Thursday.
