Two men who allegedly robbed Rax Restaurant in November were indicted this week by a Lawrence County grand jury, resulting in one being arrested.

David Artis, 23, of 275 N. Third St. Apt. 202, Ironton, indicted on a first-degree count of aggravated robbery, was arrested by the Ironton Police Department’s Special Response Team on Tuesday night.

Detective Joe Ross said citizens’ tips led officers to Artis, who was arrested in the 200 block of South Third Street.

Also wanted for the alleged robbery is Joshua Dyer, 25, of 2817 S. Eighth St., Ironton, who was also indicted on an aggravated robbery charge.

Ross encouraged anyone with information on Dyer’s whereabouts to contact the IPD.

The police have been searching for the two since mid-November. Two men dressed in black and one brandishing a weapon robbed the restaurant of $110.

Several other people arrested in recent weeks by the Lawrence Drug and Major Crimes Task Force were indicted the grand jury this week.

The indictments were filed Tuesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Tiffany Dawn Adkins, 25, of 514 Wyanoke St., Ironton, and Brendan Howard Garner, 25, of 621 17th St., Huntington, W.Va., were each indicted on two fourth-degree counts of trafficking in drugs (Aprazolam and heroin) and a fifth-degree count of possession of criminal tools.

The two were arrested Jan. 30 after drug trafficking complaints lead officers to the Ironton residence where heroin and alprazolam tablets were discovered.

Also indicted were Lori Knipp, 48, and Billy Barnett, 38, both of 2615 S. Fifth St., Ironton.

Knipp was indicted on two fifth-degree counts of permitted drug abuse, fifth-degree possession of drugs (oxycodone) and fourth-degree trafficking in drugs with a specification that $7,543 found by investigators was allegedly obtained through the sale of drugs.

Barnett was indicted on a third-degree count of possession of drugs (oxycodone), two counts of fourth-degree trafficking in drugs, fifth-degree possession of drugs, third-degree tampering with evidence and fourth-degree trafficking in drugs, which also specified the same cash amount and that Barnett had a shotgun on him during the alleged offenses.

The two were arrested Feb. 18 following the execution of a search warrant at their home.

The following people were arrested following a traffic stop by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which allegedly led to the discovery of an active meth lab:

• Thurman Harshbarger III, 36, of 1812 Carl Drive, Ironton, illegal manufacture of drugs;

• Kimi Conn, 31, of 693 Hillman Hollow, Olive Hill, Ky., illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs and complicity to theft;

• Thomas Smith, 44, of 701 Fifth St., Ironton, illegal manufacture of drugs and possession of drugs.

The following is a list of people also indicted this week by a grand jury, according to the office of Lawrence County Prosecuting Attorney Brigham Anderson:

• Evan Henry, 33, of 307 Township Road 169, Pedro, tampering with evidence and possession of drugs;

• Kelly Childers, 31, of 13 Colonial Court, Barboursville, W.Va., aggravated robbery;

• Alex Foster, 20, of Route 3 Box 445, Milton, W.Va., receiving stolen property;

• Jason Adams, 32, of 116 Rowe St., Coal Grove, aggravated robbery;

• Darrin Gully, 28, of 2928 Fannie Drive, theft and breaking and entering of Holiday’s Quick Stop BP;

• Steven Lindsey, 19, of 245 Township Road 1057, Proctorville, burglary;

• Brennan Banks, 19, of 912 Chestnut St., Ironton, possession of cocaine, endangering children, driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia;

• Tyler Angel, 25, of 1207 Clark St., Flatwoods, Ky., possession of heroin, trafficking in drugs, possession of criminal tools;

• Edward Hampton Jr., 2398 County Road 181, Ironton, aggravated robbery;

• Cee B. Hall, 52, of 80 Township Road, Pedro, five counts of trafficking in drugs (oxycodone).
