For the past four years the Friday fall lunches prepared by Linda Holschuh and volunteers from First Baptist Church of Ironton always culminate with selling apple dumpling.

This year the church’s goal is to prepare 600 of the pastries to be sold this Friday.

On Wednesday they started preparation that will last through the day of the sale.

“We will put together half and bake them tomorrow,” Holschuh said. “Then we will put together the other half and bake them on Friday morning.”

All proceeds from the lunches and dumpling sales go toward upkeep of the church’s Faith and Fitness Center that is available for use by the community.

Orders can be placed up through today by calling the church at 740-532-1240 and picked up between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday.

If there are any dumplings left after orders are picked up, they will be sold to walk-ins.
