OLBH, Ohio State to host ‘Dining with Diabetes’ classes

IRONTON — Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) and The Ohio State University Lawrence County Extension will present Dining with Diabetes, a cooking school and nutrition education program designed for people with diabetes and their family members or caregivers.

Classes are April 14, 21, and 30 at the River Hills Community Building, 628 S. Ninth St. Ironton.

All classes are from 6-8 p.m.

In the series of three classes, cooking demonstrations will allow participants to learn healthy techniques to use in their own kitchens. The program includes sampling healthy foods and discussion with a dietitian or certified diabetes educator, plus a follow-up reunion class to take place at a later date.

Those with concerns about diabetes or anyone interested in controlling blood sugar is encouraged to participate.

Family members, friends, caregivers, or other support individuals should also register for the class. The cost is $10 per person. Registration deadline is April 3.
