Ironton City Council meeting tonight

Ironton city council will have its first September meeting tonight at 6 p.m. immediately following a finance committee meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers on the third floor of the city building.

Three ordinances on the agenda include the first reading of Ordinance 15-34, authorizing and directing the mayor to advertise for bids and award a contract for construction of the riverfront transient dock and riverwalk project and declare it an emergency, the first reading of Ordinance 15-35, amending the annual operating budget for the city of Ironton for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2015 and declare it an emergency and the second reading of Ordinance 15-33, authorizing and directing the mayor to enter into a contract agreement with Ohio University Southern and declare it an emergency, which would place a police officer on the campus.

The finance committee prior is for the purpose of reviewing and giving recommendation to a permanent budget amendment, Ordinance 15-35.
