Two losses before the game led to another loss once the game began.

St. Joseph Flyers were without leading scorers Peyton Adkins and Dylan Arrington due to injuries on Saturday in a 3-0 soccer loss to the North Adams Green Devils.

“We played hard and it was a good team effort,” said Flyers’ coach Mike Balestra.

“Our younger players stepped in but North Adams stacked the defense on us and we couldn’t get our passes through for any good scoring opportunities.”

Despite the loss, Flyers’ goalkeeper Joey Bush racked up 18 saves to give his 454 for his career. The total eclipsed the school record of 450 set by Justin Mahlmeister.

North Adams scored four minutes into the game on an unassisted goal by Kenney Horsley.

Kaleb Kendall scored with an assist from Aaron Pertuset at the 57:00 mark of the second half.

Pertuset scored with an assist by Ben Figgins five minutes later to set the final score.

The Flyers (4-5-3) visit Portsmouth Clay on Tuesday.
