RUSSELL, Ky. — Carol Sweeney, an employee at the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) Women’s Center Boutique (Bellefonte Centre, 1000 Ashland Drive) has earned her certification as a mastectomy fitter from the American Board for Certification (ABC) in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics.

An ABC certified mastectomy fitter is a health professional specifically educated and trained in breast prostheses and post-mastectomy services.

This includes fitting, adjusting or modifying devices that reflect the level of education and training received. With Sweeney’s certification and that of boutique manager Lou Ann Crace, the OLBH Women’s Center now boasts two certified mastectomy fitters.
