Nearly 180 people visited the Ro-Na Theater on Saturday morning for what is hoped to be the first in an annual Ironton Christmas tradition.
Breakfast with Santa and Friends, organized by the Friends of Ironton, took place and gave families a chance to interact with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, Frosty the Snowman, the Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, Mickey Mouse and other characters, portrayed by volunteers of all ages.
In an addition to the breakfast and photos, visitors were given the chance to guess the amount of candy filling the theater’s ticket booth, for a chance to win a gift certificate from Frische’s.
“Oh, it was a fantastic turnout,” Friends of Ironton board member Valerie Freeman said of the event. “We hope this will be the start of a long tradition at the Ron-Na Theater for the Friends of Ironton.
She said the group is already planning for next year.
“Be watching for bigger and more exciting things for the whole month of December,” she said.
