AID — Power up.

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings showed their power with three home runs in a five-inning 11-1 rout of the Eastern Lady Eagles in a Southern Ohio Conference game on Monday.

Taylor Webb proved her toughness as she went 4-for-4 with a home run. Webb was returning from appendicitis surgery on Friday.

Sarah Kingery was 3-4 with a home run and Kara Saunders not only got the pitching win but went 2-3 with a grand slam home run.

“Everybody in the lineup got a hit. That was one of our better offensive games,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Jeff “Odie” Estep.

Kingery hit a solo home run on the first pitch of the first inning.

Hailee Littlejohn and Webb singled, Sierra Ross reached on an error and Saunders drilled a grand slam home run to make it 5-0.

Cassidy Freemont hit a solo home run for Eastern in the top of the third, but the Lady Vikings got the run back in the bottom of the inning when Hannah Newcomb singled, Ericca Ross reached on a fielder’s choice and Hannah Gates had an RBI double.

The Lady Vikings got three runs in the fourth to lead 9-1.

Littlejohn singled and Webb cranked a two-run homer. Sierra Ross, Saunders and Newcomb all singled for a run.

In the fifth, Jenkins, Kingery and Littlejohn all singled to load the bases and Webb ended the game with a two-run single.

The two teams meet at Eastern on Thursday in the Division IV sectional tournament.
