Walker’s Elite Training offers many classes, fitness options

Brandon Walker, of Ironton, has been a personal trainer for seven years, working at the Ashland YMCA and Elite Rehab and Fitness. Now, he has his own gym, Walker’s Elite Training, which opened just over a week ago in Ironton on Third Street next to M&M Party Center.

“I’ve worked with clients one-on-one, I’ve done group training and have ran boot camp classes and cross training,” Walker said. “I’ve been wanting to open my own gym for about two years now. I’ve been accumulating equipment, but have just been waiting for the right spot to open up to put one in town.”

Walker played a year of football at Marshall University, and is currently the strength and conditioning coach for the Ironton High School football and boys basketball teams as well.

Walker’s Elite Training offers personal training, group training, weight loss, nutrition and supplement advice, lifestyle transformations, sports performance, speed and agility, strength and power, explosiveness, flexibility and injury prevention.

“Being able to bring my energy out within my training and just being me is my favorite part about having my own gym,” Walker said. “I like controlling the way I train and being able to provide something different in the fitness industry instead of just the regular gym style. There’s constant variation in exercises, time, etc.”

Currently, Walker runs a “Rise and Grind” class at 4 a.m. Monday through Friday, which builds strength and muscle, while cutting body fat, all in one class.
At 5:30 a.m., 6:30 a.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Walker conducts hour-long cross training classes and has open gym, where the gym is open to members, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

On Saturdays, Walker hosts a “Rise and Grind” class from 7:30-9 a.m. before a cross training class from 9-10 a.m.

Personal training and sports performance training are also available by appointment.

The cost is $75 per month for members, which includes all classes offered as well as open gym time. However, until Saturday, Walker is running a special for $50 a month, in which people who sign up will be grandfathered in at that price.
