The Ohio River Wine Festival will return to Ironton at the end of September.

It will be from from noon-4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites on Sept. 30.

Tickets are $30 for six samples, a souvenir wine glass, and hors d’oeuvres.  Tickets can be purchased at the door the day of the event.

“This is the third annual Wine Tasting event and has been very popular in past years,” said Sam Heighton, the executive director of Ironton aLive. “We will be featuring four great Ohio wineries, Meranda Nixon, Terra Cotta, Merry Family and Valley Vineyards. Each will be offering samples of their best wines.”

There will also be popular cheeses  and music by Wiley Dew.

Heighton suggests following up the event with the Ghost Walk at Woodland Cemetery starting at 5 p.m.

Shuttle service from the hotel to the cemetery and back will be available. Admission to the Ghost Walk is free.
