South Point to honor newest Hall of Fame class

SOUTH POINT — South Point High School and the South Point High School Hall of Fame committee are pleased to announce the 2019 class of the South Point High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame honors distinguished South Point athletes for their accomplishments during their time at SPHS, along with significant contributions made to their respective community after graduation.
The inductees for this class are: (in alphabetical order)
Penny Absher Huff – Class of 1979
James “Jimbo” Davis – Class of 1979
Vic Edwards – Class of 1961
Erica Leighty – Class of 2009
Mike Pleasant – Class of 1972
New this year to the Hall of Fame are inductees from the Delta Era of South Point. This category was established to honor athletes from the years 1913 to 1948. This year we are pleased to induct two members into this honorary:
Pete Kartlet – Class of 1944
William “Bill” Ball – Class of 1942
On Feb. 15, the inductees will be honored at halftime of the varsity basketball game against Coal Grove.
There will be a ceremony honoring the inductees on Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. including a gourmet dinner. There will be a social hour with light hors d’oeuvres from 5-6 p.m.
