Man contacted by Ironton fire, police

The Ironton Fire Department and the Ironton Police Department have talked a man lost his home to a blaze on New Year’s Eve and said the public no longer needs to call in with his location.

IPD detective Captain Joe Ross said they have been in contact with Terry Nelson.

“The Ironton Fire Department and the Ironton Police Department has had contact with Terry Nelson,” he said. “We thank everyone in the community for their help for calling in, but we have talked to him.”

Ross said his office had been getting around 20 calls a day.

On their Facebook page, the fire department thanked everyone for their calls and added “We have spoken to him. There is no need to phone the Fire Department.”
