Deering home lost to fire

Three fire departments responded, no injuries

Fire firefighters responded to a house fire early Monday morning on State Route 243 near Deering.

The Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department was called out to a structure fire, located near the Holliday’s Quick Stop on State Route 243, around 3:30 a.m.

The house was already engulfed when they arrived and Upper Township and Coal Gove volunteer fire departments were called in for mutual aid.

It took about two hours, approximately 26 firefighters, six fire engines and two support vehicles to fight the fire.

The home was a total loss.

The owner of the home was not present when the fire started and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
