PROCTORVILLE — The temperatures warmed up outside, but they dropped drastically inside.

Fairland shot a cold 22 percent from the field as the Lady Dragons lost 43-27 Monday to the Gallipolis Blue Angels.

“With the exception of the first quarter, we did a pretty good job defensively, but I’m at a loss offensively. We just can’t score the ball. We have to get better offensively,” said Fairland coach Jon Buchanan.

Gallipolis shot just 15 of 40 from the field but Fairland made only 11 of 49.

Noe hit a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter and Morgan Daniels had 6 points as Gallipolis took a 20-7 first quarter lead.

But Gallipolis was just 7 of 25 from the field after the first quarter.

Fairland (0-5) trailed 33-27 at the end of the third quarter but failed to score in the fourth quarter.

“They’re playing hard. I can’t fault their effort. We just have to learn to score,” said Buchanan.
