I went up in the mountains over the weekend and saw four guys dressed in different football jerseys arguing back and forth. I gots close enuff to hear what they wuz fussin’ about.
The guy in a Bengals’ jersey said he was the most loyal fan and to prove it he put on a parachute and jumped off the side of the mountain yelling, “Bengals are No. 1.”
A guy in a Steelers jersey said, “Uh-uh. I’m the most loyal fan and to prove it I’ll jump off the mountain.”
So, he put on a parachute and jumped and yelled, “Steelers are the No. 1 team of all-time.”
All that was left standing wuz a Browns fan and a Ravens fan. The Browns fan said, “I am the most loyal fan of all fans and I’m gonna prove it.”
And he put on the last parachute and pushed the Ravens fan off the mountain.
I thinks I sees the Dawg Pound all jumpin’ fer joy.
Ennywho, last week I wuz 11-4 to bring the season mark to 56-20. This week looks even tougher.
Ironton at Chesapeake: Fergit that rivalry key thing. The only key these two teams care about is the key to winnin’ the game. Ironton 35, Chesapeake 24.
Coal Grove at Portsmouth: Hornets will need to grind it out and eat clock to keep Parker off the field. Problem is, eventually he will get on the field. Portsmouth 32, Coal Grove 27.
South Point at Rock Hill: Two teams who seem to play hard every week and do some good things but can’t find the win column. Pointers have one win. Now, it looks like a win fer…Rock Hill 26, South Point 21.
Gallipolis at Fairland: The Dragons are trying to figure out a way to clone Michael Stitt. Gallipolis 35, Fairland 21.
Green at Symmes Valley: After a losin’ season last year, the Vikings are turning over a new Leith. Symmes Valley 21, Green 18.
OTHERS: Minford over Wheelersburg; Waverly over Portsmouth West; Beaver Eastern over Sciotoville East; Lucasville Valley over Oak Hill; Northwest over Portsmouth Notre Dame; Ashland over Raceland.
