Coronavirus testing site offered in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH — Drive up testing for COVID-10 (coronavirus) is now offered at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

According to a news release from the facility, a drive-up testing center is located outside SOMC’s Madonna Hall, in a tent directly across from the SOMC Friends Center/LIFE Center parking lot. All will enter onto the 18th Street side and exit onto Kinney’s Lane.

Those seeking to be tested must register through a hotline by calling 740-356-2273. The call center is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. for questions and guidelines.

The hotline is also available for questions regarding symptoms or exposure.

Testing is only available to those who meet criteria or those who have been triaged through SOMC’s the hotline.

Test results take 3-5 days to process. Once received, results will be provided directly to the patient and referring provider. Those who visit the site will be required to show identification and insurance information in order to be registered.

All sample collections will be performed while those being tested are in their vehicles.
