Next weekend, the Ironton Hill Shopping Center will be teeming with folks from all over the Tri-State getting a glimpse of farm heritage at the Lawrence County Antique Tractors, Engines and Farm Equipment Show.

The show, held on June 17 and 18, is in its 13th year, and organizers are asking anyone who is interested in antique farm equipment, or has some to share, to come out for a weekend of family fun.

“It’s educational for young people and it’s a memory refresher for the older generation,” said event organizer Don Mootz.

Mootz said he and the other organizers are preparing for 60 plus exhibitors and equipment from the late 1800s through the post-WWII era.

“It’s actually a celebration of our heritage that anyone can enjoy,” he said.

Registration for exhibitors begins at 8 a.m. on June 17. Besides the tractors and engines on display, there will be barrel train rides for youth, dinner for exhibitors at 5 p.m. and a tractor drive at 6:30 p.m. Registration is at 8 a.m. on June 18 with a tractor parade through town at 11 a.m.

There will also be a kiddie tractor pull at 2 p.m. with trophies awarded.

Admission and registration is free.

“We would just like to have anyone who has anything antique to come and participate, share it with us,” Mootz said.
