Sports physicals will be available at the Ironton Health Department next week. Physician Jim Meadows will be on hand at the department 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The physicals are for any student planning to play a sport this fall or for those who need a physical for employment purposes.

The department had physicals for the first time in May. Laura Brown, Ironton Health Commissioner, said several people came to the event.

‘We had a really good turn out,” she said. “We had 12 people and that was more than we anticipated.”

The cost of the physicals is $15. People should bring shot records, unless the shots were done at the health department, Brown said. No appointments are needed. The Ironton Health Department is located at 2120 S. Eighth St.
