Her love of writing has allowed her to let her imagination run wild. The results have been three novels, “The Digby Lake Killer,” “Wallet of Death” and “Secret Past.”

Although Chapman admits it doesn’t take much to scare her, her books are thrillers. She writes stories where at least 10 people die before the mystery is solved.

However, the novels are not graphic.

Her first book was titled “Wallet of Death. “Considered a murder mystery with a little bit of romance mixed in, the story begins with a murder and a missing wallet. The murder’s only witness, Maggie Rogers, finds her life turning into a nightmare when the killer chooses her as his next victim.

Chapman’s most recent novel is “Secret Past.” A dangerous secret from years past threatens the happy life of Melissa. With an old friend stalking her and her ex-boyfriend in pursuit, can she keep her secret?

“Mysteries are our most popular genre,” says Lori Shafer, adult services librarian. “I am sure our readers will love to read Chapman’s books.”
