Museum set to open Sunday

IRONTON — The springtime opening of the Lawrence County Historical Society Sunday will revolve around sports.

Dick Burdette, author of two books on the famed Waterloo Wonders, will sign copies of his latest book as well as reprints of the original tome. His agent, John Neal, will also be there and the two will give a lecture at 2 p.m. The book signing will run from 1 to 2 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m.

Also on tap will be Ironton High School sports memorabilia of Don “Blondie Sands, including scrapbooks. The museum will also offer its own collection of Tanks memorabilia plus individual pictures.

The reception starts at 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. and there will be refreshments.
