COAL GROVE — The boil water advisory for water customers on Coal Grove’s village system has been lifted.

IRONTON — The Ironton Artists Association and the Art Department at OUSC are hosting an open reception Thursday July 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the art gallery in the Dingus Building.

The IAA’s “Sizzling Summer Exhibit”  will  include 40 pieces of art and photographs from their members.

The IAA is a group of  professional and non-professional local artists from Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia that is celebrating their 36th year.

Their exhibit will be displayed in the OUSC Art Department’s Art Gallery  from July 22 to Aug. 26.

The IAA has also been invited to participate in an exhibit for the month of December, 2010.  OUSC Art Department Director, Tom Suter and Gallery Co-ordinator  Dennis Stewart are working to involve local artists in their on-going exhibits.

The newly expanded OUSC Art Department is planning a revolving exhibit for displays to be changed every month.   Art may be viewed during regular hours at OUSC.

Art will be identified and offered for sale.

OUS ‘Weed Warriors’ workshop Saturday

Ohio University Southern and the Iron Furnace Cooperative Weed Management Area are hosting the Weed Warriors Workshop Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The workshop will be held at the Ohio University Southern Nature Center at Lake Vesuvius.

Participants will have hands-on experience with, and learn about, invasive species identification, control techniques, GPS reading, topographic map reading, habitat restoration.
