Zornes keeps swinging for Ironton golfers

Josh Zornes is keeping his game right on par.
Zornes turned in two more solid rounds in a match on Monday at the Ironton Country Club and last week and Jackson.
Zornes shot s 1-over 36 Monday as the Ironton Fighting Tigers finished with a 206 team score.
Jordan Thornhill was next for Ironton at 54. Teammates Rhett Ball and Travis Taylor each finished with a round of 58.
West Union won the match with a 160 scored to edge Coal Grove by three strokes.
Coal Grove was led by Brent Morgan shot a 35 to finish one stroke off West Union’s Tanner Huntley who was the medalist at 34.
Conor Markins fired a 36 for the Hornets while Brandon Adkins had a 45 and Coty Davidson 47 to complete the 163-team score.
Ironton St. Joseph’s Luke McGraw had a 44.
Last week Ironton traveled to Jackson for a three-team match.
Logan had a 157 to win the match with Jackson just one shot back at 158. Evan Massie of Jackson was medalist with a 35 over the par 34 course.
Ironton finished at 211 on the Franklin Valley Golf Course led by Zornes with a 38. Thornhill carded a 49 while Ball shot a 61 and Taylor 63.
