HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — New Marshall coach Doc Holliday’s first recruiting class includes 25 players.

Marshall on Wednesday signed 13 defensive players and 12 on offense to national letters of intent. Thirteen are from the state of Florida, which was Holliday’s area of expertise during his years as an assistant at West Virginia, North Carolina State and Florida.

The offensive signees include four wide receivers, three linemen, two quarterbacks and tight ends, a running back and a placekicker.

On defense there are five defensive backs, five linemen and two linebackers.

Holliday says his staff’s goal was to sign a recruiting class good enough to win Conference USA and he believes Marshall met its goal.
