KITTS HILL — Violet Mae Berry Wilson, 73, was a resident of Kitts Hill and a member of Linnville Baptist Church where her husband was a Deacon before his death. She went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 18, 2010, at 8:25 p.m. with family by her side at her daughter’s residence in Lewis County, Ky., after an extended illness. She was born Sept. 10, 1936, the daughter of the late Elzia Ray and Nora Bell “Nelly” Skeens.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Chancie M. Berry, who passed away in November 1991 and a brother Dallas Ray Skeens. She is survived by three children: a son Frank C. Berry and wife Susan of Kitts Hill, a daughter Brenda K. Lavender and husband Jerry of Wallingford, Ky. and a son Arnold “Lee” Berry and wife Tina of Kitts Hill; nine grandchildren, Steven Berry, Brian Berry, Jerry Lavender III, Chasity Grey, Kiana Cunningham, Bradley Berry, Joshua Lavender, Mitchell Berry, Leeona Berry and Chancie Ray Berry; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Clotine Copley of Kitts Hill and Sheila Lester of Chesapeake; and a very special lifelong friend, Mrs. Wayne “Kay” Kelly of Kitts Hill, OH whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. At Mrs. Wilson’s request, her son-in-law Brother Jerry Lavender will conduct the services.
