Kevin McFann

Kevin Lane McFann, 53, of South Point, died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Kevin was born Jan. 28, 1959, in Columbus, a son of the late Richard E. “Gene” and Mary Catherine Smith McFann. He is survived by his close friends who cared for him the last several years, Doug and Catherine Price; his cousin, Mike Clary; his neighbors, Frank Cain and Jean Cain; and his friend, Junior Eaves. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Condolences may be expressed at www.schneidergriffin.com.

 

William Guy

William Henry Guy, 73, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Sanctuary of Ohio Nursing Facility in Ironton. The Wilmore, Ky., native was born Aug. 21, 1938, a son to the late Charles Joseph and Evelyn Lucille Hamilton Guy. William was a graduate of Pedro High School. William worked as a Millwright for the local Union #1519.

William is survived by a daughter, Robin Denise (John) Sayers of Lexington Park, Md.; two brothers, George Guy of Cleveland and Don Guy of Florida; three sisters, Rosemary Adams of Clearwater, Fla., Geraldine Adams of Ironton and Alvin Steed of Ironton; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Terry Lynn Guy.

Bernard Waller

Bernard Dean Waller, born Sept. 24, 1951, passed away early Monday morning, May 21, 2012, of an apparent heart attack at his residence in Coal Grove. Dean was the son of the late Elyma June Plumley Waller and Bernard Paul Waller. Following his high school graduation from Chesapeake High School, Dean went on to Marshall University where he received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education in 1973. He also later graduated from Lexington Baptist College with a bachelor’s degree in theology in 1975. Dean is survived by his son, Jared Dean Waller of Ashland, Ky.; a brother Kendrall Paul Waller of Chesapeake; and a sister, Brenda Joyce Banks of Fayetteville, N.C. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. today at Getaway Cemetery with Brother Garland Johnson officiating. Burial will follow. At Dean’s request, there will be no visitation. Grace Canterbury

Grace E. Canterbury, 93, of Canterbury, died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Heartland of Riverview. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
