PINE GROVE — Sometimes in a golf tournament, a player doesn’t do well and misses the cut.
The Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association of the Ironton County Club weren’t missing the cut, but they were missing a few regular members who weren’t feeling well. The club members made a point at their weekly Tuesday meeting to recognize those members who were unable to attend and to express how much they missed their presence.
On Tuesday, July 1, Jane Mains was the hostess and served breakfast treats during the weekly business meeting. She then announced the day’s events and the winners’ at lunch following play.
Winners were Pat Riggs, Pat Lambert and Becky Dillow.
Riggs took over hostess duties last week and handles breakfast food, preparation of events and the luncheon winners’ announcement. Wanda Spears won one event while Riggs dominated with three event wins.
Members were reminded that the Handicap Tournament will continue one more week. Also, the Ringer Tournament will be played throughout the summer.
Next week’s hostess is Betty Fraley. New members are always welcome.
