Suzanne Clark

Suzanne Henry Clark, 67, of Patriot, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, at her residence. She was born on Nov. 22, 1946, the daughter of the late Donald Clark Henry and Lillian (Bryant) Henry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Dawn Clark; and two brothers, Bruce and Jeffrey Henry.

She is survived by her children, Wayne “Bubby” Clark of Patriot, Brian Clark of Ironton, Shawn (Melissa) Clark of Ironton, Belinda (Randy) Hawks of Vinton, Todd Clark of Patriot, Charles (Rhonda) Clark of Scottown, and Kelly Clark of Kitts Hill; two sisters, Belinda Littlejohn and Denise (Bud) Bowman, all of Coal Grove; one uncle, William “Bub” Bryant of Coal Grove; and eight grandchildren: Megan (Bret) Denton, Austin Clark, all of Ironton, Derrick Pemberton of Vinton, Brittany Clark of Scottown, James Clark of Scottown and Donald Clark of Scottown, and Meranda Clark and Kendra Clark, both of Vinton. A special thanks is given to Wayne and Nancy Clark and family, Shawn and Dora Myers and family, Ruby and Nicole from Holzer Hospice; and Brandi Burgess, her home health aide.

Family and friends may visit Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Graveside service will follow in Bradshaw Cemetery.

Elizabeth Colegrove

Elizabeth “Betty” Marie Elder Colegrove, 75, of Deering, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born in Sturgis, Ky., on July 25, 1938, the only child of Ben and Ruby Nally Elder. Betty was a graduate of Holy Family School in Ashland, Ky. She was retired from JC Penney Company and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Ironton. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Daren “Scotty” Colegrove, whom she married April 27, 1957. She is survived by three children, Steve Colegrove and his wife Jami of Wilgus, Jackie Wagner and her husband Allen of Marion, and Daren “Den” Colegrove and his wife Amy of Deering; five grandchildren, Seth Colegrove, Nathan Colegrove, Amy Wagner, Mary Wagner and Julie Wagner; and one great grandson, Jonesy Colegrove. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Calvary Cemetery with Father David Huffman officiating. Visitation after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday until 10:30 a.m. at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home in Ironton. Pallbearers will be Seth Colegrove, Nathan Colegrove, Brian Davis, Mitchell Curtis, Alex Mattingly and Mitch Messenger. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Community Hospice Care Center 2330 Pollard Road Ashland, KY 41101.

Leo Hurst

Leo Hurst, 80, of Hamilton, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014, at the Bradford Place. He was born in Middlesboro, Ky., on July 1, 1933, the son of the late George and Roxie (Barnett) Hurst. On May 22, 1988, he married Delores “DeeDee” Wilson in Sevierville, Tenn. Leo was a retired mechanic for Liquid Transport and Ford Brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Delores “DeeDee” Hurst; two sons, Leo Scott (Judy) Hurst and Tim Hurst; one grandson, Nathan; one great-grandson, Elijah; sister, Robirda (Roland) York; brother-in-law, Gene (Karen) Wilson; and sister-in-law, Susan Sanders. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin; seven brothers, Ed, Cleston, Malcomb, Hobert, Dorton, Doyle and Dean; sister-in-law Barbara White and brother-in-law, Kevin Sanders. A memorial service will be at 12 p.m. May 27, at Bradford Place, 1302 Millville Ave., Hamilton. Condolences may be left for the family at www.Webb-Noonon.com.

 

 

Richard Garretson

Richard A. Garretson, 45, of Huntington, W.Va., died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in Crestview, Fla. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Chuck Case. Private burial will be in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.
