Frances Nelson

Frances Faye King Nelson, 60, of Waterloo, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, at her residence. The Ashland, Ky., native was born Aug. 9, 1953, a daughter of the late Robert Marshall King and Phyllis Faye Griffith King.
Mrs. Nelson attended Boyd County schools and was a certified nurse assistant and worked for Bryant’s Nursing Home for over 10 years. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved and devoted her time to her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by  two sisters, Linda Everman and Iva Jane King; and a brother, Johnnie Max King.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, John Lee Nelson Jr.; son, John Lee Nelson III of Pedro; daughter, Deborah Lynn Howard of Ironton; daughter, Phyllis Jane Nelson of Waterloo; six grandchildren, Jared Howard of Ironton, Haley Howard of Ironton,
Zoey Brooks of Ironton, Brian Sharp of Pedro, Sheena Sharp of Waterloo and Kayla Sharp of Pedro; two great-grandchildren, Michael Bruce and Chase Baker, both of Waterloo; two brothers, Robert King and Alva (Becky) King both of Grayson, Ky.; two sisters, Edna (Paul) Nelson of Pedro and Freda Hatfield of Grayson, Ky.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews
Funeral service will be noon Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Mac Shope officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

Diana Delong, 60, of Oak Hill, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. The Lawrence County native was born Dec. 29, 1953, the daughter of the late Burnal and Mary Magdaline Mosley Aldridge.
Mrs. Delong attended Rock Hill High School, was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Rodney Lee Turvey; second husband, Franklin Eugene Delong; daughter, Jennifer Sue Turvey; three sisters, Helen Marie “Peanut” Aldridge, Brenda Aldridge Osborne, and Sissy Aldridge; a brother, Jeff Aldridge; and a granddaughter, Haile Diane Woodruff.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary (Mark) Bailey of Pedro and Marsha (Kenny Fraley) Turvey of South Webster; three brothers, John Aldridge of Ironton, Joe Aldridge of Wheelersburg, and Frank Aldridge of Oak Hill; four sisters, Reba Aldridge of Ironton, Kristin Aldridge of Ironton, Mary Aldridge of Wheelersburg, and Elva Risner of Pedro; two sons, Timothy Kinney and Jeremiah Kinney, both of Piketon; seven grandchildren, Mark Bailey, Brandon Turvey, Brandy Woodruff, Jerry Bailey, Jamie Fraley, Corey Fraley, and Colton Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at  Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Shane Hanshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. Julius Cline, 71, of Ironton, died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.

Betty Koukos, 84 of South Point, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at the Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley. Arrangements are pending at Brown Funeral Chapel at Ironton.
