Ironton 9-10 All-Stars win District 11

The Ironton 9-10-year-old All-Stars won the District 11 championship and played in the state tournament the July 26-28 weekend in Bryan. In the district tournament, Ironton beat Rock Hill 14-7, Fairland 11-1 and Minford 9-6. Ironton lost in the finals of the winner’s bracket 12-7 to Wheelersburg as they made eight errors. However, the rebounded in the consolation bracket to beat Minford 7-6 and played Wheelersburg in the championship round. Ironton won 10-0 behind the pitching of Ashton Duncan and solid defense and hitting to set up the title game. The teams met again for the district title and Ironton won 11-7.
