PROCTORVILLE — The village of Proctorville has plans to update its village welcome sign to add the Fairland Lady Dragon’s second consecutive Final Four appearance in the state tournament this year.

“It’s something that we have to do,” Mayor Rick Dunfee said. “Making the Final Four is special and it doesn’t happen two years in a row very often.”

The sign was made at Paris signs in Huntington, West Virginia, and was donated to the village by the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.

“I’ve been working with the coach getting the exact dates,” Dunfee said. “As of this date, we’re still trying to figure everything out and are looking for someone to change it, but it will be updated.”
