CHILLICOTHE — On April 17, Keith Washburn, originally from Ironton, was promoted to chief of the Chillicothe Police Department.

Washburn has spent 20 years in law enforcement with the Chillicothe Police Department as an officer, sergeant and captain before being promoted to chief.

“I enjoy it. It’s a good department here,” Washburn said. “There’s been a lot of changes over the years, but I’ve had a good career.”

Washburn is the son of Gary and Phyllis Washburn, of Ironton.
