Joseph Eaches

Joseph Eugene Eaches Sr., 87, of Township Road 347, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Lane Purcell Hospice House in Sumterville, Florida.

He was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Ironton to the late Frank Stanley and Vera Louise (Kelley) Eaches. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War from 1951-1954. On May 3, 1954, he married Hattie (Erwin) Eaches, who preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 1999.

He was a service manager for the former Bechtol Lincoln-Mercury in Coshocton. He was a member of the Coshocton Co. Sportsman’s Association for 43 years, 14 of which he served as an officer. He was also a VFW member. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing and camping, woodworking and working in his garage. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a great friend to many.

He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Steve) McGuire, of Coshocton, and Debbie (John) Russell, of Leesburg, Florida; six grandchildren, Lori (Tim) Tilton, Lisa McGuire, Steve (Amy) McGuire, Melissa Renner (Matt Born), Cody Eaches and Eric Russell; three great-grandchildren, Carter, Katelyn and Brandon McGuire; four sisters, Louise (Ernie) Shipman, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Celia May (Palmer) Grubb, of Coshocton, Edith (Wayne) Hart, of Coshocton, and Faye (Joe) Henderson, of Coshocton; a brother, Larry (Audrey) Eaches, of Coshocton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Joe is preceded in death by a son, Joe Eugene Eaches Jr.; and five brothers, Frank Junior, Raymond, Virgil, George and Gary Eaches.

A private family graveside service will be held at Coshocton Co. Memory Gardens with the Rev. Ben McKinstry officiating and graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton Co. Veterans Honor Guard. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is assisting with arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com

Gary Hale

Gary R. Hale 65, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at his residence. Mr. Hale was born April 24, 1951, to Eloise Napier-Hale and the Late Earl Hale in Cleveland.

Gary was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a former employee of Distech where he was a diesel mechanic. He was also an avid motor head. Gary was a son, husband, father, uncle, brother and a proud grandfather. He has many friends and will be missed terribly.

He was a wise man with many words, jokes and stories that would capture your attention to the end. He could always make you smile on your worst day. He loved his family and he tried hard to make everyone happy.

Left behind to carry on his memory are his wife of five years, Rinalee Hale; children, Jennifer (Terry) Hale- Wilks, Courtney (Robert) Hale-Blackburn, Pamela (Charles) Delong-Vanover, Randi Hale, Casey Lynn Hale, Steven Charles (Jessica) Howard, Jamey “Jay” (Shannon) Howard, Jessica R. Howard and Nichole (Jeremy) Mullins; brother, Robert Allen (Pam) Hale Sr.; sisters, Skyla Short and Tonya (Mike) Kuhner; grandchildren, Travis and Joey Wilks, Kai and Jakob Blackburn, Charlie “Little Man” and Jimmy Vanover, Nina, Daniel and Oliva Howard, Blake McCoy, Alex, Taylor and Emma Mullins; nieces and nephews, Robert “Bobby” Hale Jr., Chris Hale Sr., Skot (Krista) Hale, Mickey Kuhner and Rachael (Stephen) Branham; and a very special nephew, Dr. Andy Hall and best friend Larry Gillum; fur-babies, Sugar Kane and Daisy Mae Hale with a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be noon today at the Plaza Community Church in Ashland with pastor Paula Sergent officiating. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery North East. Jo Ann Gosselin

Jo Ann Hager Gosselin, 82, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016, at her home. The Lawrence County native was born May 12, 1934, a daughter of the late Estal and Vera Heighton Hager.

Mrs. Gosselin was a 1955 graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing. Mrs. Gosselin was also a 1952 graduate of Ironton High School. She retired in 1994 from the Lawrence County Medical Center, in Ironton, where she was a registered nurse. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Ironton.

She is survived by her husband, William G. Gosselin, whom she married July 30, 1955; and son, William Allen Gosselin of Kissimee, Florida.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with minister Willie Purdee officiating.
