The Lawrence County Democratic Party unanimously elected J.T. Holt to replace Mark McCown at the end of his term March 1.

With McCown running for the Ironton Municipal Judge seat in the fall, he is unable to return for another term with the Board of Elections.

Holt was the only candidate nominated for the position.
